Little homemaker

This week I found a cute little playhouse on craigslist so my dad was gracious enough to go pick it up because it was in Blue Springs and deliver and assemble the playhouse for us! Bella was so surprised when she went outside after nap! Now it's the first and last thing she wants to do each day. She loves cooking, making phone calls, and washing things in the sink!

A Kansas City Weekend

This weekend was filled with fun KC attractions! We started off by going to the Royals game Friday night with tickets Brandon won in a golf tournament. This was Benjamin's first game and he loved it! He laughed the entire time all the way through the fireworks! Bella was old enough this year to sit in her own seat and actually watch a few things going on.

Saturday morning we met up with our friends, the Marbles, at City Market and got some yummy kettle corn and fresh basil to make pesto. Then we ate at the Power and light district for lunch. It was also the Sprint family fun day at the P & L so we walked around for a few minutes and Bella got to try her first go at tee ball. She is so independent and absolutely didn't want any help from daddy!

Sunday we enjoyed swimming with Uncle Kev and Papa and playing with Gigi!

Celebrating 5 years!

This past weekend was our 5th anniversary. A big trip was always the plan but with Benjamin so young and still nursing, it just wasn't going to work. Benjamin stayed with Gigi and Papa, and Bella stayed with Sophie since Gigi's shoulder is fractured our more active child needed more adult supervision! :) We had an amazing weekend though at Lake of the Ozarks. Brandon won a free weekend stay at Camden on the Lake. It's a pretty new resort and it was so nice! We enjoyed a luxurious suite overlooking the lake. We took advantage of our two nights with no kids! Friday night we went to dinner, played miniature golf, and raced go-carts! It was a blast! Saturday we enjoyed the biggest cinnamon roll we've ever seen for breakfast, then layed by the pool and enjoyed pizza and drinks at the swim up bar. Then we got dressed up and went out and had steak and lobster for dinner and went to a movie. Sunday morning we were pampered with a couples massage and then went to lunch. We feel rested, connected, and sunburned after our great weekend getaway!

We came back to my parent's house to pick up our kids and to celebrate Kevin's 24th birthday. My dad did all the cooking and made amazing steaks, twice baked potatoes, rolls, salad, and cake! Kevin got his cake served on my Grandma Guier's musical birthday cake spinner. It slower turns your plate around and plays the song Happy Birthday! It's over 50 years old and was used to serve each of my dad's and his siblings birthday cake when they were growing up! Such a fun tradition!

8 month update

Benjamin is now 8 months old! He's really beginning to take interest in "big kid" toys! He has found a new love of cars, the shape sorter, and his train puzzle. Even though he enjoys just banging them around, they're so much fun! He's almost sitting up on his own. He'll last anywhere from a few seconds to a minute or two before he lunges to grab something and falls over. He's very mobile for not crawling yet. He'll roll and stretch his way across the room, so I know crawling is just around the corner. He's taking 2-3 naps and eating food at every meal! He loves life! Everything is so funny to him so I pray that he keeps his sense of humor and always enjoys life that way! His best friend is Bella and they can make each other laugh all day long. He is getting onery and pulls Bella's hair and takes her Raffi, but Bella is patient and very sweet still.

It's Independence Day!

We celebrated the 4th on Sunday with Gigi, Papa, Uncle Kev, and the Bailes! It was great to have the whole family together again! We enjoyed lots of great food, a little swimming, and a great fireworks show put on by Kevin of course! The girls loved the snaps the most! Those were a huge hit with Bella. She got the hang of it pretty quickly and learned if she threw them up high they would land with a pop!

We spent the night there and hung out the next day. Bella was so excited to get to play so much with Gigi, Papa, and all their fun toys! Papa brought back a special treat...donuts! Bella of course made her way up to his lap to share her morning treat!

Welcome Home Kev!

Wednesday night we greeted Kevin at the airport for a warm homecoming! We were sure to leave our mark with the scene I'm sure we made with our banners and posters! We just can't hide our excitement for his return! Bella painted a poster for him and wore her Peru jersey. We enjoyed BBQ pulled pork sandwiches, baked beans, fruit cups, and brownie sundaes for dinner over at Val and Lea's house. We look forward to hanging out and catching up this summer!
