Big Trucks and Equipment
This morning after our sleepover we headed out to the Lee's Summit airport for the big trucks and equipment day. There was a bounce house, balloon animals, face paint, popcorn, cotton candy, and more trucks than we could climb into. The boys were in truck heaven getting to "drive" all these big pieces of machinery. In the SWAT car Benjamin was calling Papa on the hand held "phone". We ended our day testing our strength with the big hammer! We all crashed for naps including Bella for 3 1/2 hours!
First Sleepover
Last night Bella and Benjamin had their first sleepover with their cousins Sophie and Porter! Man, were they ever excited! We had little pizza kits from Papa Murphy's, t-shirts to make, cupcakes to decorate, and of course lots of playing and not too much actual sleeping. I think the girls may have finally fallen asleep a little after 10:30pm which made the next day pretty emotional for Bella. That girl needs her sleep to function....reminds me of someone. :) We woke up before 7am as usual due to our little alarm Benjamin. He's such a morning person and ready to go! So we dragged ourselves out of bed and had an amazing breakfast of monkey bread, eggs, and fruit. Thanks again to Aunt Val for driving all over to find brown sugar! I couldn't believe I didn't have any brown sugar! But it was well worth it! After breakfast we headed to the Lee's Summit big trucks and equipment day.

Deanna Rose
We had our Spring trip to Deanna Rose this week! I had to fit it in before we left for TN! This is one of our favorite places in KC and now that it's a little bit of a drive we'll have to make a trip in the Spring and then once in the Fall for the pumpkin patch! This was our first time to go since they closed last fall so as we pulled up the kids were freaking out with excitement as they remembered Deanna Rose! We easily spent about 4 hours there seeing all the animals, playing on each piece of equipment, and checking out the old timey stores. Feeding the baby goats with a bottle and the pony rides are major highlights. Benjamin was a good sport and watched as Bella got to ride the pony. He'll be old enough next time, or close enough by a few weeks hopefully! The peacock showed off his feathers for us, it was so cool! Bella was brave wanting to feed the huge billy goats and Benjamin made sure each baby goat got a sip from his bottle! He made sure they all shared! :) We went to the general store for a game of checkers and a piece of taffy and then next door to the ice cream parlor for some yummy ice cream! This was a well deserved fun day in the midst of our craziness right now!
They sat through the whole milking demonstration. This was a first for us!
