A visit from Grandpa Bob

This past weekend we had a great visitor! Brandon's dad came to visit us and play with Bella. She loves to swing with her baby doll!

This was from the other day, a cute shot of her pushing her milk in her stroller. And of course wearing her tiara!

Somehow, Bella has found our candy stash and thinks it's hilarious to get pieces out and bring them to me. She also tries to open the wrapper with her teeth. Hmm, I wonder where she's seen that?

Wizard of Oz

This week we had a really fun outing with the Armstrongs! We went to the newly remodeled Fritz's for lunch in Crown Center. Then, we had to check out the Wizard of Oz exhibit. It was so fun! Bella ate it up and loved all of the interactive buttons and levers. Here she is on the famous Yellow Brick Road!

We've always thought of her as a little munchkin!

Bella is pressing a button to light up Oz and make him talk! This I think was her favorite. She would have stayed all day long and kept pressing the button.

Here we are at Fritz's. The hat is still a little big! We loved watching the trains go round and deliver the food!

What cute buddies! Samuel was quite the sweetheart and let Bella choose which bench to sit on. Honestly... she couldn't make up her mind! :)

Who's having more fun?

Something I love about having kids, is that you get to feel like a kid again too at times! We had a blast at the park the other week when it was so warm! Bella was cracking us up with how adventurous she was. She was very social with the other kids and their size or age didn't intimidate her! Her favorite thing was the slide! She would climb to the top and then yell out some jibberish at the top of her lungs as to let the other kids know she was about to go down the slide!

Brandon was so excited to ride the motorcycle! Bella knew just what to do! She climbed up in the little passenger car all by herself!

This was a little Valentine love we sent out to family. Bella loves her big baths with all the toys and the freedom to crawl around.

The Reading Reptile

We had a girls day out yesterday in Brookside. My mom, sister, Sophie, Bella, and I enjoyed an Italian feast at Carmen's. It was delicious and largely portioned. Our nice lunch was abruptly ended when one of the cooks burned some peppers. First, Sophie began coughing, then Bella began coughing. I thought, how cute, she's imitating Sophie. Then, Valerie seriously started coughing and choking. As soon as it finally drifted to my mom and I we were frantically grabbing our stuff and yelling "Get the girls out of here"! I would not do well under any kind of torture or toxic gassing! I watched the girls out on the sidewalk while my mom took care of the bill! haha, never a dull moment with the Guier girls!

After our lunch we headed to one of our favorite little places in Brookside called the reading reptile. This is the most amazing little children's bookstore I've ever been in. It reminds me of the bookstore in the movie You've Got Mail with Meg Ryan! There was a pet cat napping in the sun and Sophie and Bella enjoyed petting it until Bella discovered she got more of a reaction when she pulled the cats ears or fur!

We wandered around looking at books and then, Bella spotted Cinderella's carriage! She was so excited to play! While we were there playing a photographer from the KC star got a few shots of her coming in and out of the carriage! The door was so fun to swing open! I thought, surely she won't actually get in the paper, but we had a great time.

Well, this morning I got an email from a friend saying that she saw Bella at the top of the local section of the KC star! It's adorable I think of course! haha, if you want to check it out click on the link below:

Swimming in January?

We needed to get out and burn some energy last week, so Val invited us up to the Liberty community center. Before we had kids a swim outing was relaxing and pretty easy to get ready for. We had a few "situations" leading up to swimming that were pretty typical for any mother. Many of you can probably relate to the following!

After lunch we were all getting changed and Sophie was very excited to wear her new cloth swim diaper! She was so excited that she had a blowout in it! Totally ruined for the day she had to wear one of our extra disposable swim diapers! We did get to see Valerie use her new hand held sprayer that is attached to the toilet to clean the swim diaper. This is a tool for cloth diapers that works very well at spraying off the poo in diapers! While we were all watching that, my mom is holding Sophie and then Sophie pees everywhere! Huge puddle on the floor, my mom and Val hit heads trying to get Sohpie to the toliet, Sophie spits up somewhere in the midst of all of that and then my mom realizes she only has the top half of her suit! Haha, wow, it was a miracle we made it there before dinner time!

The girls love their swim toys!

We loved the warm baby/therapeutic pool. We were all worn out after an afternoon filled with a yummy lunch at Auntie V's, preparing to go swimming, and a good swim in the pool. It was a good tease for summer time. We still need to get Bella a new suit for this summer. She's sporting a cute Little Mermaid swim diaper!
