Our Last Deanna Rose Trip

Deanna Rose closes for the season in just a few days! It was a bittersweet trip knowing we wouldn't see this place until Spring but enjoyed it with Benjamin's new sweet friend Alex and some old friends Adria and Isacc! The weather was amazing and it was the perfect day to enjoy the outdoors and friends!

Apple Butter Day

Last weekend was the Guier annual Apple Butter day! We had gorgeous, even hot weather this year! It was great to see everyone and catch up as well as we could while chasing the kids around!

The first step for apple butter is the kids get in the trailor and pick up the apples....

then send them down the grinder...

the bucket is taken and the apple mush is squeezed so all the juice is out...

the juice is strained and bottled for apple cider!

I didn't get a picture of the huge cast iron kettles the apple butter is cooked in all day, but there's a lot of stirring and watching that goes on!

And of course a nice countryside picnic!

Hoots and Howls at the Zoo

Last weekend while Brandon was out of town, the kids and I went to a special event they had at the zoo. On top of seeing the animals, they had Clifford (whom the kids were satisfied to just wave safely at from the stroller) , a hayride, and a pirates cove with tons of fun games. The kids loved walking the plank, feeding the shark, digging for treasure, and the ring toss! It was a great outing, I love my little munchkins!

Apple Cider Fest

We headed south to Louisburg to join in the festivities of Apple Cider Fest! The kids loved watching the conveyor belts and machines go to work with all those apples! We had to try to apple cider of course, an apple donut, and kettle corn! There were some fun activities and the weather was beautiful!

Campout at Papa and Gigi's

Boy, did we have a great camp out day at Papa and Gigi's little farm! We pulled up and Papa had the hayride all ready on his four wheeeler and trailer! Bella goes, "Where are the horses???" haha! She's been spoiled! We loaded up and took an exciting ride up the street and back down through the back yard and some trees! And, what's a four-wheeler hayride without getting a little stuck in the trees? There was a tent and camp out dishes set up, a water cooler for drinks, a picnic lunch, carmel apple station, and a campfire for s'mores! It just doesn't get much better than this on a beautiful fall day!

Deanna Rose with Gigi and Cousins!

I'm behind on my posts, but we actually did this a couple of weeks ago I think. Haha, all of our outings are running together now! Bella and Benjamin love spending time with Gigi, Aunt Val, Sophie, and Porter! Bella considers Sophie her best friend, and is always so excited to see her! They remind me a lot of myself and Valerie when we were little! Gigi spoiled the girls with pony rides, bottles to feed the goats, and goat food! The boys actually did amazing feeding the goats this time with the bottles! I was very surprised! The tractors are always a hit but a huge workout for the adults. It was a beautiful day and we soaked it up!

Bella and Sophie were playing a new "game" today on the slides. They would take turns catching each other pretending to be babies! How funny! They were adorable to watch!

I also love this moment, you see Sophie, Bella, and then a random kid stuck in the middle, then Gigi and Porter! The slide got a little backed up!

I love this pictures because it's always so crazy to try to get all the kids seated and looking at the camera at the same time!
