A Cayman Thanksgiving!

We had an amazing vacation in Grand Cayman for Thanksgiving with the Johnson family this year. I feel spoiled rotten and loved every minute of it! The only thing we had to think about was what we were going to eat for the next meal or to swim in the pool or ocean! The kids were in heaven with the world's largest sand box and endless days of swimming and playing with Grandpa Bob, Uncle Barry, and Aunt Christie! After the 3 long flights down we literally were in the condo less than 5 minutes, threw on our swimsuits and bolted straight out to hit the ocean! It was amazing to feel that first step in the soft sand and see the kids' eyes just huge with joy and amazement as they discovered the beach and the ocean for Benjamin's first time and Bella's second. It doesn't get any better than to see your kids loving every inch of life!

Our days were filled with amazing breakfasts cooked by Uncle Barry and myself one morning, sand castle making, walks on the beach, learning to swim several feet under water (Bella!) and to float face down for several seconds (Benjamin!), jumping and being thrown around, discovering the best Conch fritters the Island had to offer, visiting the Pirate caves and holding their native bird, seeing only one shark (thankful it wasn't real), ordering Thanksgiving dinner and laying out prior to and afterwards, reading an entire book (ME!), being unattached to technology, and most importantly spending time with family!

Bella made one friend, Max from Chicago, while we were there. The kids that stay in the condo like to play together while we're all there since it's a small community. It's so family friendly and relaxing! Benjamin loved seeing the lizards each morning on the patio and we were lucky enough to see a pretty large crab walking up the screened in patio! We couldn't get too close because it had it's pinchers out! Brandon and I got a couple of "dates" this week which were walks on the beach and a snack and drink at Calico Jack's. We had our favorite lunch of the best fish and chips at Run Point one day. Sadly, we weren't able to visit Sting Ray City because the water was too rough the day we planned to go, but we enjoyed the Cayman's version of a zoo and the pirate caves!

We have so much to be Thankful for this year! We are especially thankful for our family for making this trip possible! We made so many wonderful memories with our kids and we were all sad to go!
