The Johnson's Journey: Our Easter

Sunday morning the kids woke up excited that Easter was at last here! We've been reading the story of Jesus with the Resurrection Eggs. They love these with the little symbols in each egg that help tell the story. They've been talking about Jesus dying on the cross and rising again. They understand why we celebrate Easter and they love talking about how Jesus died for our sins so we can go to Heaven if we believe in him. It's so sweet, I love it! The night before Easte,r Bella and I were reading the Resurrection Eggs and she decided to ask Jesus into her heart! She's been talking about it for awhile and I've been asking her questions to see if she understands and she was ready! So she ran and got daddy so we could all be together. She said a prayer with us and then said "listen to my heart mommy!" So I leaned in and listened... and then she said, "it says thump thump, Jesus lives in here!" That just melted my heart and I was so full of joy! It also just so happened we got her a cross charm for Easter to add to her charm bracelet! God knew all along and it was His perfect timing! I love the innocent and purity of her heart and love for Jesus!

They got some fun stuff in their baskets! They all three got the swim suits for this summer, swim shoes, goggles, kites, bubbles, a devotional or Bible, and a big chocolate bunny! Ben got a little putter. He was so excited and started practicing right away. Bella got a cross charm to put on her charm bracelet.

Bowen tried one of his yogurt melts but gagged on it! He's not quite ready for finger foods! haha

Bella got to find the pink and purple eggs!

We made resurrection biscuits for breakfast! You take a marshmallow (that represents Jesus) dip in butter and cinnamon and sugar then roll it into a crescent roll (which reprsents the tomb). Then you dip that in butter and roll in cinnamon and sugar and place in a muffin tin. We baked them and then....
