Easter Chicks!

Since childhood, one of my favorite Easter traditions has been getting cute little baby chicks. There are so many funny stories of how we reacted to them as small children so now it's so fun for me to see Bella and Benjamin love them too! Bella was acting quite grown up and not scared at all to hold them and pose for the camera. Benjamin loved the idea of them and asked frequently to go in and them. He would sit down on the floor and be all prepared to hold them, but as soon as I got one out and it was within reach he got a little jumpy and would bat at them. Haha, he did get some gentle pats in also.


Sophie also came out to play and she, Benjamin, and Bella had a great time doing some Easter crafts. Benjamin loves to be included with whatever the big girls were doing even if his version of the craft only lasts about 30 seconds. They painted Easter egg shapes on the paper, made sticker Easter eggs, chocolate suckers, and dyed Easter eggs. So much fun as always!

Special dinner guests

We recently got to have the kids' great grandma and grandpa Sachse over for dinner accompanied by Gigi and Papa. The kids were so excited to entertain everyone and play! We grilled hamburgers and chicken. We also had watermelon, spinach salad and strawberry shortcake for dessert. Bella thinks we need candles on any cake that we eat since the only time we've really had cake is at someone's birthday party. It was both great grandma and grandpa's birthdays recently so they got to blow the candles out after we sang!

Family Pictures

Last week we had a crazy week with moving. We closed on our house, had family pictures and began moving all in one day. So the timing of family pictures wasn't the best, but of course if anyone can pull it off, I said that I could! :) We had a great opportunity to support a family at church who needed to raise money for missions. He's a photographer so for a VERY reasonable price we got about 20 minutes for him to take some pictures and the disk of all the pictures to print at our leasure. Wow, it was very stressful for me because Benjamin is at the age where he doesn't sit still for even half a second, and Bella is very active as well. Brandon and I got a lot of pictures of just the two of us. I felt like we had gotten engaged all over again. haha, but in most of them my face showed evidence of stress because all I wanted was at least one good family picture. We were lucky enough to get a few good ones to hang up in our new home through!

Zoo Days!

I've been waiting for the weather to get just warm enough to go to the zoo. We've been twice in the last couple of weeks and we've all loved being outside and seeing the animals. Benjamin is old enough this year to really start doing more and Bella remembers it all of course!

We met Aunt Val, Porter, and Sophie (still known as Tutu) both times. These are a mixture of our visits, of course it's hard to choose favorites!



Benjamin is in love with trains these days as most young kids are. He was so excited to ride the train and did not want to sit on my lap or have my arm holding on to him. But I thought it was so cute I noticed in the picture he still had his sweet little hand on my lap! :) He is getting to be so big!






Benjamin loved the birds. Bella was so poised the whole time as she held out the cup to feed the birds. Benjamin liked chasing them around and got a good laugh at them!

Crown Center and Kaleidoscope

Last week was Spring break so I planned a few fun outings so we wouldn't go crazy with all of our usual things canceled. Monday we met our friends Leah, Adria, and Isacc at Crown Center. We had so much fun at Kaleidoscope, playing in the Under the Sea exhibit, and of course, eating at Fritz's!

Happy St. Patty's Day!

We did a few fun things for St. Patrick's day this year. I think the kids enjoyed matching the most! Bella is obsessed with everything having to match these days, even down to her morning vitamin! Yes, I'm serious! She won't eat it unless we can find something that it matches!

Bella helped me make clover shaped peanut butter rice crispy treats with green sugar on top. Yum! And she had fun doing some stickers.

My Charmers

I found these cute little T's at Target and thought it'd be fun to have the kids match. They say "Totally Chamin, Lucky Charms". Bella was so excited! They wore their shirts to BSF today since we won't be there next week due to Spring break. After lunch I tried to get a cute picture of them and this is how they turned out!
