An evening at the zoo

Earlier this week we met the Armstrong family at the special event the zoo was hosting for "Friends of the Zoo" members. They were offering free camel rides and we could not pass that up! Samuel and Bella were so exicted and not at all scared!

The highlight was after the ice cream when the dance party started! I think they would have danced all night or at least until the sugar high came to a crashing low! It was one of the sweetest moments I think I've had yet!

So much fun with daddy!

We are so thankful for such sweet special friends! We love you "Meme"!

Happy Father's Day!

This weekend we celebrated Father's Day with Grandpa Bob. Saturday morning while they were golfing the kids and I snuck off to Westlakes to work on a secret project! I was so excited about the FREE birdfeeders they had for the kids to paint! Bella loves painting and picked out the prettiest colors for daddy! Pink and blue which turned to purple! So we ended up with a very masculine birdfeeder! :)

The bird seed was heavy!

Bella grabbed her tools when she saw Brandon getting his hammer to help hang the bridfeeder.

Ta Da! The finished project!

Benjamin enjoyed his first wagon ride!

The kids and I tagged along for a couple holes of golf to watch Brandon. The best part was helping drive the cart and eating snacks!

Monday I took the kids and Bob to Monkey Bizness, an indoor inflatable play place in Olathe, and Bella wore us out! We were both sweating and had to tag team to keep up with her!

We finished off the weekend with a game of bowling with our family pass from "Kidsbowlfree.com". This is a great program nationwide that you can sign up for and kids can bowl 2 games free EVERY day this summer! You can buy a family pass for $25 so up to 4 adults can bowl 2 games every day of the summer too! What a deal if you like to bowl!

Goat Cheese with Honey anyone?

We celebrated my mom's birthday on Sunday! It was such a fun girl's day out. We found a cool new hip dessert place to go after our yummy lunch at the MIXX. It's called Glace and it's a Christopher Elbow's artisan ice cream shop. They have crazy flavors like Goat Cheese with Honey or Fresh Lavender! We didn't go quite that far in our flavor choosings but between the three of us, we enjoyed the Carmelized Peach, Lemon Curd with Blueberries, Carmelized Banana, Mango sorbet, and the Venezuelan dark chocolate and Venezuelan Vanilla. They were all delicious and we can't wait to go back and sample some more of the crazy flavors!

My little swimmer!

I just can't get enough of my sweet Benjamin's smile! I could kiss his sweet checks right off his face! Haha! This was his first real swim time in the coveted crab floaty.

Benjamin's 7 months!

We've been so busy with fun playdates and enjoying the summer weather that 7 months really snuck up on me! My little man is loving his Johnny Jump up, especially when Bella pushes him in it like a swing! They get to laughing and giggling together it's so cute! I can already tell that Benjamin will have no fear like Bella! He is rolling over quite a bit and starting to pull himself around to grab whatever he can. His laugh is still so contagious and adorable! He's eating so great now! Just in the last week or so he's started to eat rice cereal and 3-4 cubes of baby food! I'll be anxious to see how much weight he gains at his next doctor's appointment!

Fire Safety

Last week K-Love sponsored a family fire safety night at Chick Fill-A! Bella got to climb in the fire truck, play with the gadgets, and turn on the water!

Memorial Day Weekend

We had a fun-filled weekend! Our first event was the Hot Air Balloon flight and glow in Gardner, KS. The kids loved being up close to watch the balloons set up and take off into the air. I also have to note that I had the best corndog of my life there!

Sunday night we went to Celebration at the Station which is Union Station and the Liberty Memorial. There was a concert and great fireworks to watch! Bella really got into waving her flag!

We spent the night at Gigi and Papa's house. Monday we had our first swim of the summer and my dad's amazing burgers and homemade ice cream, and my mom's delicious homemade mac 'n cheese, beans, salad, dip, and apple cake! Yum!

"Where's Waldo?" haha, Brandon trying to get some alone time this weekend!
